Richie Rich Gets Richer: The widening gap between the world's rich and poor. This report looks at the ever widening gap. "There are customers that have all the way up to 100 vehicles in their garage." Torsten Muller-Otvos from Rolls Royce tells us. Each one costs about half a million and last year Rolls Royce sold more cars than ever before in their 100-year history, but then the luxury industry knows no crisis. Since 2009 the rich have become on average 6 percent richer. So while one in six Americans now has no health insurance, Manhattan's 58 billionaires have gotten richer. As Manuel Koch points out the ratio of return expected by the rich has totally shifted, "People used to be happy making three million profit. Today companies like Apple account for 6 billion profit. That's profit! Not turnover." But despite their greater income the super-rich aren't too happy about the idea of their tax loopholes being closed. In their minds they give back, even if its not through taxes. "I know a lot of rich friends who have charities...when they reach a certain level they give back to the community. So I think less tax is always better than too much." But as the world struggles through a financial crisis and the globe-trotting elite continue to grow wealthier, there's not much evidence they have their communities interests at heart. Thank you Mr Rich for:
a) opening up the local real estate market to international investors, thereby making the price of houses unaffordable to my generation and every other generation there after
b) increasing your profit margin and not my wage so I can only afford the bare essentials
c) And coercing government into multiple free trade agreements so you could finally send my job offshore

I don't mind people being rich, I do mind if they don't pay their fair share in taxes, I do mind that banks print money out of thin air and have me pay interest and in so doing enslave humanity, I do mind the plutocracy they create. I want the comfort of knowing that the money I make today will be worth the same for my kids, I want to own my property fair and square, I want the option to select what my tax money will be used for as a % allocation for example war or public education and health care. I want a political system that doesn't pigeon toe me into pathetic options favoring only the plutocracy, I want freedom, true freedom.

I worked at a Five Star Hotel for six years ... Every guest I met every day was
a millionaire plus. The power the super rich have is absolutely
mind-boggling. They can have whatever they want whenever they want it.
That means ANYTHING. You'd be surprised how cheap it is to buy the votes
of a US Congressman ... Senators aren't that much more. Want the
company of multiple super model level attractiveness (most actual
models) young women for a week? Done. Don't want your wife to find out
about it? Also done for a price. The wealth and power of a modern
multi-millionaire eclipses the wealth and power of historical feudal
lords many, many times over. Every day they buy things that are not for
sale. The super rich are no longer human beings. They have transcended
into being something else, and we are the mud on their shoes. Make no
mistakes, they think of the working class as lesser beings ... and to
them, that's all we are. We aren't even humans to them.

I think some people enjoy fanning the flames of class warfare.  Their indignation is not completely unjustified, but I think it is important to recognize there are two different kinds of rich people.

One kind gained their wealth by providing value which was then consumed by the masses.  They make the world a better place with innovation and community improvements.  These people do not deserve your scorn.

The second kind is the most vile creatures ever to crawl the face of the planet.  The people who created mortgage backed securities knew they were shit but did it anyways.  Scumbags like Enron stole from everyone around them to reach the heights they did.  Banksters that fund both sides of a war, instigate wars, send millions to their deaths all in the name of profits, this is where your anger should be directed.

It is ludicrous to think that anyone can possibly earn, as in worked hard enough to earn billions of dollars.

There are 2 cars driving on a road. One behind the other. The car in back is going 50 miles per hour, the car in front is going 80 miles per hour. At first, the gap between them is only about 20 feet. Astonishingly, 10 minutes later, the gap has grown to almost a mile! We must fix this inequality! I know! Lets give the car in back more gas! And we can get it from the car in front.
*Meanwhile, no one bothers to tell the driver of the car in back that cruise control is on and that he can accelerate if he only put his foot on the gas petal.

Two reasons:
1. They use tax havens like the Cayman Islands.
2. Governments print trillions to preserve their wealth.

While I agree that the poor works 10x more than the super rich and earns a fraction of that if the rich, u can’t deny the fact that the rich have a lot more responsibility in terms of his business and managing it

Key to getting rich (if you're not born to rich parents): don't have loads of kids you can't afford (just plain stupid); don't borrow loads of money for cars/houses (paying interest is the epitome of stupidity); don't do drugs (obvious); don't eat like a pig (McDonalds etc will make you fat and sick); turn off the television (you will learn nothing and there are only a few hours in each day); learn at least one other useful language (handy for communicating everywhere and anywhere) and focus on what YOU absolutely need (don't sweat the small stuff). Well that's a start. The rest is up to you.

3:03 That explanation is no good as it doesn't explain anything, it just tells the situation. The explanation is, in fact, simple and is: Where do you think all those money from cutting salaries, health, education and benefits go?

I think all you people that sound like you are quoting Ayn Rand are forgetting something called corporate welfare which Rand would hate.  The executives of walmart are some of the richest in the world and that is because they pay their employees practically nothing.  How do they manage this?  By assuming the state will make up the difference with welfare.  Similar to Ford that payed their employees more to build a middle class that would buy their cars, Walmart is making their employees poor so all they can afford is to shop at walmart.

Furthermore if you are making money by saving(economically illiterate people call it investing) what are you really contributing.  If you have money to burn, which you are no longer working for, why not start contributing.  If you are living entirely off capital gains you are no better than the person on welfare especially if those gains are coming from walmart.

According to the fact that stupidity (insufficient or wrong education) is the main cause of all the bad things, we would definitely have a much better world, if ALL of us would have a better education to be able to behave like Nikola Tesla:
"Money does not represent such a value as men have placed upon it. All my money has been invested into experiments with which I have made new discoveries enabling mankind to have a little easier life."
